We are in the process of moving from our own local system, as outlined on our Climate Change page, to the wider online sightings and recording system, Nature Counts, operated by the Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust. In this system you can either record a single sighting at this link or enter a list of records at this link. You might like to begin by trying out the simpler single sighting form.On this form you enter some personal details and the details of whatever it is that you have seen. To report the location, you should enter Whirlow Brook Park in the box “Search for Place on Map” which will bring up the full address of the Park. Clicking on this takes you to an aerial view of the Park area with an initial position set close to the lower pond. You can move this using cursors and zoom keys to the position of your observation and a spatial reference from the British National Grid will be automatically generated and entered in the form. For example, SK30788298 may come up if you are reporting long-tailed tits on the bird-feeders near the sunken garden, which are in the small red square shown below.
